Luke 13 : the parable of
‘the narrow gate’ explained

Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
(24) Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in,
and shall not be able.
(25) When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door,
and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open
unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
(26) Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou
hast taught in our streets.
(27) But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me,
all [ye] workers of iniquity. (28) There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth,
when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets,
in the kingdom of God, and you [yourselves] thrust out.
(28) There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham,
and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you
[yourselves] thrust out. (29) And they shall come from the east, and [from] the west,
and from the north, and [from] the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
(30)
And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

  • 1. HOW is it possible , that Christ says “many will seek – but will not enter”…. ?
isn’t that totally violating his message ?
  • 2. what is the given REASON for the “shutting of the door”… ?
nothing is said about that !
  • 3. why are “Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the prophets” dragged into this narrative..?
and why – per KJV – “will there be gnashing of teeth UPON seeing Abraham”..?

… so one can never say that Christ did not gave hints to go read the (prophets-) scroll :
all of the above is 100% conform their message ;
and now you see the well-running version ,
you immediately will spot the glaring mistakes / corruptions in KJV ,
since they never understood the prophets !

2.
used or altered Greek roots :
… we stayed as close as possible to the original text ,
but because these types parables are very compact
(as constantly referring back to the main theme) ,
for example , line 27 MUST write “you have not sought” – referring back to line 24 –
as the reason for the offence

3.
if we ‘hijacked’ this parable ?              (‘are the parables not true for all believers’?)
– Ofcourse not
(see the other posted parable ; Luke 18) :
while particularly this one is way too sober and too dangerous to play with    —
if
someone wants to read in it a superficial meaning like “when believers will not
depart from the way the Gospel describes , then they will come in heaven” – fine .
But.
… the whole context here goes much deeper than understood by a mere superficial reading ,
because the parable works towards a GOAL , using certain themes to make the point ;
and without taking the latter into account , one does not do justice to the message .
So – no .
