Luke 18 : the Son of man will return
WHEN he has found the belief
(breakdown of the parable)

(1) And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray,
and not to faint; (2) Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God,
neither regarded man: (3) And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him,
saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. (4) And he would not for a while: but afterward
he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; (5) Yet because this
widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
(6)
And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
(7) And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though
he bear long with them? (8) I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

A)   the real context of the key lines 7-8 in Luke 18

line 7 and 8 do NOT read :                                         (you’ll forgive us the simple analogy) ;

7 “will the father of little John not do the right thing for John ?
8   I tell you : he will do the right thing for John ! ” ;

… but instead , the sécond action here belongs to little John :

7 “will the father of little John not do the right thing for John ?
I tell you : becáuse little John did the right thing ,                                     (+ a promise)” ;

(2.)
… because the buildup of the entire parable requires the above syntax :
in first half (1-5)
the widow (=’weaker subject’) asks “him to justify hér”                  (=‘passive situation’)
(which that judge eventually does) ,
yet in the second half (lines 6-8) , where the judge is posed as God ,
and the widow became “the 144,000” ,
(=’also as weaker subject’) , it reads yet “they DID justice tó him”(=’active situation’)

(3.)
again , to make the point ;
first half – shown in interlinear as ,
3   the widow said to the judge : JUSTING you me                                                     (=’passive’)
5   then the judge says to himself : I will be JUSTING her
transition line :
6   hear what the UN-JUST judge says :
second half :
7   how much more will God DO the JUSTING  (..to those souls..)
8   when (=they) will DO the JUSTING (=to him) (G846) (..etc..)                           (=’active’)

you see ?
… factually , “Christ is asking souls to go DO a just thing”   (!) ,                                   (line 8a)
so that “Gód will DO a just thing TO THEM” ,                                                                       (line 7a)
causing that “I will return to earth as resúlt of what they DID”,                                 (line 8b)
so that “they will not need implore day and night , anymore”                                      (line 7b)

and therefore line 8b CANNOT be ‘a question-line’ (see KJV) ,
but must , necessarily , be “a conclusion”  – namely as a promise :
something is asked souls to DO which “causes” Christ to return  !!

B)    what is this “right thing to do”… ?                                        (=’a conditional clause’)

… it cannot be “the imploring day and night” – since that is a resúlt of what they did ;
neither can it be “a passive request for to be justified” – the context dismisses this ;

but Christ says “that , like the widow who constantly went to that judge ,
the souls must go to God himself”  ;              (i.e. , do something fór God)
adding clues as

  • “a widow” , line 3 , respresenting ‘somebody who was left behind (by another)”,
    which is the same position of “the elect” in line 7 :
    but note how that position is immediately linked to Christ’s return ! ;
  • “an enemy” (of the widow) , line 3 ,
    which must – per context – be the same reason why ‘the elect cry out’ , line 7 ;
  • “justice”
    (which in line 7 + 8 is preceded by the verb “to do” G4160 poieó) :
    the colour of the root varies from
    (in 7-8)  “justice (2), vengeance (4), avenging of wrong (1x)”      (G1557 ekdikésis)
    to (as in lines 3+5 as) “(give) legal protection”                                        (G1556 ekdikeó)
    but either way , ‘a Legal case’ is addressed here ;

the answer to “what is that right thing to do” is “to go to the (prophets-) scroll” ,
in prophets termed as “the scroll of IEUE” ;
the below example as Is. 64 : 1-6 covers all the previous clues in six straight lines :

“approaching God” :
(the sons saying,)
“(..if..) (lua=am) – you (would) (-only) tear – the heavens ,
(..+and..) (..show..) (ird=ngd) [+us] – your countenance ! ;        +

2 to make [+yourself] known – to – [+your] (..sons..) [=’144’] (guim=bnim) ,       +

3 in=as [you-] doing – (..what..) (la=me) – we wait for ;        +
——————
“the widow” :
and=because – [=since] olden times [=’say 1000 BC’]        +
no – ear – (has) heared [+you] ,                                                                                     [=’4b : see Is.57’]
(+and) no – eye – (has) seen [+you] ;
b (..but..) (k=ki)       +
you (will) (..show yourself..) – [=to] the ones [=’sons’] (who) wait – for [=you] ;

——————-
“the justice” :
5 encounter you ! , (..+please !..) , (..your sons..) – (who) have – the right (-perception) ,
[+as] – the ones (who) remembered – your (..words..) (drk=dbr) :        +

——————
“the enemy / the imploring night and day” :
behold ! ,
(..we understánd..) (athe=iada)        +
(that-) you (are) wroth – [+at] our sin [=’this body’] ,
(..because..) (em=ol) – [=our] (..adm-soul..) (iash=nphsh)        +

6 became – polluted ,       +                                                                         [=’6a: Is.59 ! (+51) ; Hag.2’]
 [+by] (..dwelling..) – and=in – (..this..) (odm=zth) – (body-) garment [=’this body’]

b (..but..) (kl=ki)        +
[=you] (..(will) save [=her]..) (nsha=iash) – (out) [=from] [=her] depravity [=’this body’] ;

… there are many chapters addressing these clues – also describing them separately ;
now we covered the base , we can make Luke 18 : 6-8 definitive :

Luke 18 : 6-8
(6)
said YET THE Master Lord HEAR ANY THE JUDGer OF-THE UN-JUSTness injustice IS-sayING
(7)
THE YET God NOT NO SHALL-BE-DOING THE OUT-JUSTing OF-THE CHOSEN-ones OF-Him

  • ‘bear long’ , G3114 makrothumeó ‘patient 6, patience 2, delay long 1x [here]’;
    G3117 makros ‘long 3, distant 2’ ;
  • ‘that’ , H3754 hoti ‘because (212 ; also as ‘that’), then (1), so (1), since (10)’ ;
    G3753 hote ‘when (98), as soon as (2x), after that (2x)’;
  • ‘when’ , H687 ara ‘then, indeed’, 18x ;
    H686 ara ‘when (22), therefore (3), so (4)’;

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him,
though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

——————————
annex
1.
line 8b , the “justice (to-) him” (=to God) :
same G846 autos ‘they, them, those, her, him, himself, her’ (usually 3d person) ;
2.
… the “in haste”                                                                                  (8a)
refers immediately back to the “as soon as”                    (8b)
which – in turn – is based upon the “or be distant”      (7c) ;
but
some creep added -plén (G4133) “however, nevertheless, except”,
therewith de-linking the solid context above , in order to create a nonsensical closing line

b) if we ‘hijacked’ this parable ?         (‘are the parables not true for all believers’?)
… if one reads in this parable the message
“no one who will ask God seriously , He will ever dismiss” – that is absolutely true .
But.
… the whole context here goes much deeper than understood by a mere superficial reading ,
because the parable works towards a GOAL , using certain themes to make the point ;
and without taking the latter into account , one does not do justice to the message .
So – no .
