theme
… not to search problems but instead to secure a rather serious theme —
Joshua chapters 3-4-5 show a distorted buildup including repetitive sections
where the main theme is “the people old-Ishral entering their promised land” ;
KJV has that happen on “the fourteenth of the month” during “Passover”
where however the word ‘passover’ shows tampering ,
and the question is : why not ‘the fourteenth day as Atonement’.. ? is not
the day of Atonement much more logical — especially at an Atonement in a
Jubilee which is about “(returning-) to enter the own (promised-) land” ?
leaving Egypt ——————————>>> entering the promised land
Passover 14th Atonement 14th
[KJV has ‘Passover 14th’]
we saw in the Mk.13 [Mt.24] section (-see page) that the 14th of Passover is
directly linked to the 14th of Atonement : so why not here as well just with a
forty years gap – as the time that the people wandered in the desert ?
in fact : is that gap not similar to Christ’s passover and Atonement today ?
assessment of themes (-we need)
positive : shown ‘I put away your shame + on the 14th’ [5:9-10]
… as important for us —
said as “This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you” ,
which is NOT ‘a Passover statement’ ! since His sacrifice runs on all the
way until the start of the Tribulation – and even then saves Jacob out of it :
but “the being cleansed , atoned for” typically belongs to Atonement !
remove shame + 14th + enter the land [+12 stones] = Atonement …
… apart from the very Solid “remove shame + 14th + enter the land” ,
we still have the unclear matter of ’12 stones’ having been placed in (?)
the Jordan river when the people crossed it — and though the people were
‘the twelve tribes’ themselves ofcourse , here “their respective répresents”
had to be involved with their respective ’12 stones’ ,
implying that the context (think 144) links to Atonement , NOT to Passover !
[also see ’12 stones’ below]
the isolated ‘angel of the Lord’ section [5:13-15]
… as most peculiar since it lacks any followup —
that the angel merely told Joshua “to remove his shoes” (15) is far too weak ,
so what did Christ do here ? “guiding them to cross the Jordan representing
a dimensional-border (-into Eden)”.. ? that would make Sense , since it is the
same situation now concerning our defácto entry to Eden ;
yet in that case these lines need to be ‘the start of chapter 3’ and not as lost
somewhere at the end of 5 (sic) — but how to restore the buildup properly ,,?
conclusion [-spoiler : it’s ‘Atonement’] :
… it sounds tedious but it’s important that we’re sure what we look for (!)
before deciding which sections may be corrupt – or even added as coverup ,
and the latter means that six full lines about ‘circumcision’ (in 5) need to go
as written by Esau to support his “Passover timing” suggestion :
present contextual buildup
[previous : Moses at mt.Nebo] [Moses’ prophecy = at Trumpets !]
(Joshua 1)
– ‘in 3 days we will cross the Jordan” (line 11) [as a 12 day window]
(Joshua 3)
– the people cross the Jordan
(line 15) ‘Jordan flowed over her banks’ [month March/April = Passover ,
but corrupted from 4:15 also in brackets ?]
(Joshua 4)
– [strange repetition of-] the sáme crossing , now with ’12 stones’
as ‘stepping stones’ ? , unclear intent
given date : “crossed it the 10th of the first month” (in 19) [but seems added]
(Joshua 5)
– the ’14th day of the month [+Passover] ‘ line
start : “all males circumcised’ [yet they heal in 2 days needing 10 ?
where -ml can come from ‘manna’ -mn in 12]
given date : ‘the 14th’ (in 10)
in 13-15 : “the angel of the Lord” [what it is about & doing here ?]
(Joshua 6)
– Jericho falls after 7 days [>> feast of Tabernacles ?] (important !)
